Q: your apple id or password is incorrect

I inadvertently ended up with two id's for apple. Both passwords were the same. They both work on Apple Id login on the computer. On my iphone, apps are not being updated and when I try to update , it asks for passwords, its always wrong. I have tried this several times until it locks the phone. I have read that this has happened many times. I need a solution. Do I reset my phone?
