Forwarding appointments to Calendar from an email program?

An appointment email should come with an .ics attachment which will create the appointment in Calendar.

Apple Mail will do this as standard. If your using Outlook for Mac then it will put the appointment in the Outlook calendar. If your using some other email client then you need to save the attachment then either drag it on to Calendar or right-click on the file and say open with Calendar.
