mail keeps dropping passwords or accounts

Mail constant drops passwords out of accounts. Today it actually deleted an account. It adds accounts across devices sometimes, but not all the time. It is hugely annoying. Can see no reason. It just does this, randomly. Seems unstable. Never had this problem with outlook. Any ideas?
