Using Migration Assistant to transfer 850gb to new computer

I'm trying to transfer about 850gb from my Mac Pro to a newer iMac i7 I just purchased. So far the migration assistant has been running (unchanged) for 40+ hours. Since there is No indication on this version (Mavericks) of the time remaining, I'm a bit anxious but reluctant to interrupt the process after so long. I know 850gb is a lot of data but this seems like such a long time.

Please press and hold the power button for a few seconds until the power shuts off, then release, wait a few more seconds, and press it again briefly to restart. Test. If you're trying to migrate directly from the old system and the migration wasn't successful, back up the old system with Time Machine or Disk Utility and try migrating from the backup.
