How can I get an icon on the task bar?

Not sure how this relates to Apple networking ...
What icon are you looking to get on your task bar and on what operating system are you referring to? OS X does not have a task bar. Instead it has a menu bar at the top and the Dock at the bottom (by default) of the Desktop.
