Apple Calendar and Microsoft Exchange

Since two days my Apple Calendar on my Macbook does not synchronize calendar entries anymore with my Microsoft Exchange account (still works with my iPad Pro and iPhone 6). Any advice, or can only Apple solve this riddle? Error message is

So although this was originally discussed more than a year ago, I'm having this problem for the first time today, and none of the solutions here or in another related support thread seem to work. I've confirmed and reconfirmed my company's server settings. Outlook for Mac is accessing both mail and the calendar just fine, but Mac Mail and Calendar no longer can. Everything works fine on my iPhone -- so what gives?

This just started for me 3 days ago also.

I first tried updating to OS version 10.11.6 and then did the clear cache thing https://michaelkummer.com/fix-calendar-cant-save-event-x-exchange/ and the time zone thing http://macdrug.com/how-to-fix-calendar-cant-save-the-event-to-the-exchange-serve r-in-ical-in-mac-os-x/

then deleted the account and added again but the problem is still persisting

Our 365 account administrator talked with MicroSoft. The response is below. Apparently a software update started the connectivity problems. This also seems to be affected some users of Mac programs. They are trying to update again by end of day Friday, July 28th, 2017:

Exchange Online Connectivity Service Detection- 1. User Impact: Users may be unable to connect to the Exchange Online service via the Outlook client and mobile devices. More info: While we work to remediate impact, Outlook on the web can be used as an alternative method to connect to the service. 2. Start time: Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at 2:15 PM UTC 3. Preliminary root cause: A recent change introduced a code issue to the infrastructure responsible for client access connectivity and routing. The code issue caused the systems to perform below acceptable thresholds and resulted in connectivity issues. 4. Next update by: Friday, July 28, 2017, at 5:30 PM UTC.

Here is the latest update from Microsoft:

EX112430 - Exchange Online - Restoring Service

Title: Apple Mail sync issue User Impact: Users are unable to sync email, calendar, and contacts using Apple Mail on their Mac computers. More info: While we're focused on remediation, users may be able to access their data with the Outlook for Mac client or Outlook on the web as an alternative method. Current status: We've completed developing and testing a new fix, and we're preparing to deploy it across the affected environment. This process will begin over the weekend, and usually takes around 72 hours to reach the majority of systems. As the deployment progresses, users will begin to experience service restoration. In the interim, we encourage affected users to use the workaround described above. Scope of impact: Impact is specific to users attempting to sync email, calendar, and contacts using the default mail client on Mac machines. Start time: Monday, July 31, 2017, at 2:55 PM UTC Estimated time to resolve: We expect this issue to be completely resolved for all affected users within the next 3-4 days as the fix is safely implemented through our change management process. Preliminary root cause: A recent update contained a code issue that prevents users from syncing email, calendar, and contacts using Apple Mail on Mac computers. I thought I was the only one with the problem. I am receiving the exact same message. I was on the phone all day with company IT trying to figure out a cause, without success. Your post feeds my suspicion that it has been caused by 10.11.4 update. All was syncing perfect before. Have you received and support? Any guidance? Any possible solution?

I have tried all the usual steps of deactivating, removing and reinstalling the Exchange account but the error continues. iPad and iPhone sync fine. iMAC and MacBook do not.

I spoke to Apple Support, who blamed it on Microsoft Exchange. Talked to four people at Microsoft Support including the two technicians at their Global Exchange Support team, and they blame it on Apple.

I have the same suspicion that the problem seems to be related to 10.11.4 - can anyone else help, or is anyone else experiencing the same problem?

Microsoft has opened a case under EX44658 but i am not the account tennant admin, so i cannot see any details in Microsoft SHD.

Check out the Microsoft Office 365 support forums.

This Issue appears to be triggered by (a) specific event/entry type in Exchange. I have already wiped all Caches/Saved files/Configs from OS X and re-connected to the Exchange server with the same error: Calendar apparently cannot parse an Event via SOAP over EWS interface.

It looks like Apple needs to fix Calendar.app to correctly parse this event type, because somehow i don't think microsoft will remove it from their EWS SOAP interface.

But i am guessing here based on the Error message from Calendar, and i could be completely wrong.

At least Microsoft has already escalated this issue to technical support and is investigating.

ℹ In the Meantime: As a workaround for those Office365 Subscribers with Outlook entitlement can download and install Microsoft Outlook for Mac (activated by their Office365 Subscription). This allows them to accept/modify/save calendar events until this issue is fixed (by either MS or Apple).

All others have to use Outlook Web Access or their iOS devices (or third party Calendar applications with EWS/ActiveSync support).
