Since latest upgrade the screen won't rotate to landscape even though the lock icon shows unlocked. Any ideas how to fix it?

Have you tried a Forced Restart? Hold down the Home and Wake/Sleep buttons at the same time for about 15-20 seconds until the Apple logo appears. You will not lose anything.

However, I have received a reply from elcpu who indicated that i "should hold down the Home and Wake/Sleep button for about 15 to 20 seconds until the Apple logo appears" and it worked!!! Yeah!

My screen looks like your screenshot 1 with the rotate Icon. I have already tried the following:
Hard reset (Home and sleep button till seeing the Apply sign)
Switching between using the side button the rotate or mute
Resetting all settings
Resettling just Network Settings
Formatting the whole Ipad back to factory and loading from backup
Any help would be much appreciated.
