How Does One Add & Manage Photos in iTunes?

My Fellow Members-

I cannot begin to count the number of times I've been told that I can add Photos / Pics in iTunes, and be able to manage them there while literally seeing everything! However, like a good member I tried searching this topic here before posting it, and the last similar thread was posted in 2012 - LONG before iTunes was able to do so much!

Essentially, what I am seeking to know (and more importantly learn HOW to) is can I use iTunes as the primary location for managing ALL my photos and albums so they appear on my iPhone 6s Plus exactly as shown in the iTunes location? I realize that "Photos" is the main location where they are all stored and sent to after taking them via the camera on my iPhone, but as stated - Ive been told that I can create folders, albums, and have them appear in the same way on my iPhone? Can "Photos & iTunes" sync with one another so that they all look similar?

I have NEVER been able to find a way to "import" (If this is the correct term) any photos at all into iTunes, much less have them organized in albums there. Right now my iPhone contains photos is the most confusing format I have ever seen! Nothing I once had in previous albums labeled "Friends, Family, Vehicles, Vacations, etc" is in such a format now? The one thing I always loved about this forum, was that when help was offered by the true Mac Professionals out there, it was always given in a Step-By Step format that was so easy to follow and then BAM - it was done!! I've listed these questions out w spacing so perhaps it helps someone answer them under each?

If there is any such way you kind Pro's could possibly explain to me:

1) If what I am asking is understood and even possible to do?

2) If iTunes can in fact be a location where I can manage my pics in a place I can SEE them?

3) If such folders or albums created in iTunes will in fact show up on my iPhone the same when opened in Photos? Or do I need to open iTunes itself on my iPhone to view all my pics?

4) Do I ONLY sync my iPhone to my MBP or iMac using "iTunes" or the regular method where one normally backs up?

5) Lastly, If I am WAY off base with this matter please instruct me toward a better method of having identical photo viewing and managing capabilities on all my Mac devices?

I truly apologize for this lengthy thread. It's literally one of many symptoms of my PTSD from being blown up in Iraq by an IED while in the Marine Corps. Too often I write entirely too much info when trying to get a point across, and i truly hope you don't hold this against me folks because I am really trying to work on it, but without those gracious step by step instructions you all so graciously send I am lost trying to process the answers and material in my brain due to the type of Traumatic Brain Injury I sustained during this unbelievable blast! Again, Im sorry and hope someone can assist me on this troubling issue since the last time I "synced" my iPhone with my MBP I ended up with so many photos all over the place and absolutely no idea how to fix it all. 😟
