Q: Airdrop question

I cannot find the AirDrop icon on my Control Panel. I have restarted the phone, changed the settings, added WiFi and BlueTooth, turned it on and off, etc and still the icon does not appear.

Is this a problem that occurred with one of the software updates? I can't remember ever using AirDrop, so I don't know when the icon disappeared.

iPhone 6, iOS 9.3

Swipe up the Control Center from the bottom of the screen and you should see the AirDrop settings. This article may help.

Thanks for the help..but as I stated in my question, when I swipe the control center up, the icon for air drop is not there...

I have the airplane mode, wireless icon, the blue tooth icon, the moon and the lock icon on the first row.

The middle has the back, play, and fast forward buttons.

The bottom row has the flashlight, clock, the nightshift icon, the calculator and the camera icon. There is no airdrop icon anywhere and what I would like to find out is..how to get it back on the control center.

Check your restrictions in settings and make sure WiFi and Bluetooth are on.

To use Airdrop you need to be signed in to iCloud with your Apple ID

Thanks for that suggestion. I am signed into ICloud with Apple ID and the icon still doesn't show up on Control Center. WiFi and Bluetooth are both on.

Weird thing showing up now..."THE WEATHER" app, but now my music doesn't show up on Control Center panel This is a change from before...I am wondering if all this happened with software update. My husband's SIRI disappeared off his phone with IOS8 and we have not been able to get her back, even with all the great suggestions in this discussion group.

Go to Settings > General > Restrictions and make sure that AirDrop is under Allow and turned green.

Also please realize that there is no AirDrop Icon per se, just a grey band above the flashlight area that says "AirDrop: Contacts Only" or whatever you have it configured for.

Thanks so much, that was the answer! I never thought to go into Restrictions.

Now, can you help restore Siri? Works with headphones only, but front microphone IS working for all other uses, like speakerphone and FACETIME

    My pleasure....

The Siri issue may take a restore to resolve since it started with iOS 8. I suggest opening a new thread summarizing what you have tried already.
