Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update Canon EOS 80D

Hi,

I am trying to import RAW + JPEG pictures from my new Canon EOS 80D into Photos. When I try to select Images -> Use RAW as original I get the following error message:

Cannot Switch Original.

Photos cannot switch to the original because the RAW is unsupported.

I am wondering now if the current version of Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update includes the EOS 80D and if not, when it will be updated.

My Photos version is:

Version 1.5 (370.42.0)

Digital Camera RAW 6.18.1 (831)

Digital Camera RAW Support 6181 (207)

I did not see the EOS 80D on the RAW support list - Digital camera RAW formats supported by OS X El Capitan - Apple Support

Generally Canon support is quick so hopefully with the next RAW update

A new RAW Compatibility Update (6.19) came out today and the 80D is still not supported..... Is there some way of requesting an update? Or informing Apple in case they missed the existence of the 80D?

i have this same problem. my mac is fully up to date, but am unable to get my photos off my new canon 80d because the file type is not supported for this new camera. i submitted my feedback to apple and hopefully they will fix soon. do you know if there's any work around or am i stuck unable to get these photos off my camera and onto my computer until they fix this?

As a workaround you can use the Canon software that came with your camera, Adobe RAW converter or JPEG Plus RAW
