Q: iPhone SE Bluetooth issues

I have a new iPhone SE and have so far paired it to a 2014 BMW 328i and a 2011 Kia Optima and a 2015 Kia Santa Fe. In all cases, I have terrible quality bluetooth call reception... the audio while on a phone call is extremely scratchy and distorted.

If I pair an iPhone 6S to each of these vehicles (same iOS version - 9.3.1), I do NOT experience these issues and calls are clear.

When I use the iPhone SE to make phone calls outside of Bluetooth, I have no issues and calls are clear.

This bluetooth issue on my iPhone SE does NOT impact Bluetooth music streaming. Only sounds scratchy / distorted with phone calls.

Apple, so far, is blaming the vehicle manufacturers despite there being multiple vehicle models and brands involved.

BMW and Kia state this must be an Apple problem.

Apple Genius bar is absolutely no help -- they state they can't report "software issues" to Apple and are only able to replace bad iPhones.

I'm at a complete loss as to how to get this to Apple's attention so they can fix the issue.

For now, I don't know what to do. All I know is that Bluetooth audio is very important to me in California since it is illegal to use your phone except in a hands free manner.

Anyone know how we can get this information to someone at Apple that can actually do something about it?

Robert

Yes. It worked for me. Thankfully someone posted the link here to download the second beta. I couldn't figure out how to get it by searching Apple's website. I had 30 days to return my phone to Verizon because it's on a business account. So I'm glad I got it working before that expired. I'm using a Ford Sync system in my truck. The difference is night and day. They definitely fixed it in this beta for me. This whole problem is pretty pathetic if you ask me. I started buying Apple stuff years ago just because it always worked and I didn't have to waste time making it work myself. This is a big confidence shaker.

We also had a BT problem on a slightly smaller scale when the iP5 came out. Coming from an HTC Thunderbolt with perfectly-working BT at the time it was maddening, but it was fixed in next update. My iP6 has never functioned properly with my 2014 GMC Denali, from sounding like I was underwater sometimes to the people I was calling to occasionally resetting the nav/infotainment system when streaming music over BT. But I did what you did, and now my SE works better than my iP6 ever did.

I can, obviously you don't make calls with b/tooth, anyone using their phone as a PHONE just do the update. If like mreg376 and just play on instagram don't worry.

Just picked Senna67, jangjong and peppespizza at random looking for posts proclaiming happiness with your beta, but could not find them.  I think I've wasted enough time on your posts.

It still works fine after I did what we are not allowed to talk about, my 14 day period is over and I am very happy with my SE.

I have the se problem with iPhone SE and Plantronics BT handsfree. the sound get gradually worse during calls and sometimes the headset also lo the connection (sound coming from phone instead). Tried 3 headsets, resets and everything else that has been mentioned here. iOS 9.3.1. Did not try beta since I have to be able to depend on this device.

Add me to the list of those afflicted by the iPhone SE that is useless for calls via Bluetooth hands free in the car.  Can I get a refund?

Have you tried the beta 3 they released today? I plan to try it later......hopefully our fix wasn't broken in this newest beta.

Iphone sales dropped last quarter. Could it be due to poor quality, like we are seeing in the SE roll out? 36 Pages and over a month and still no word. That which we are not supposed to discuss hasn't been released either. I for one do not use betas as OS. Resetting my network didn't work either.

    SOLVED

yesterday I installed 9.3.2beta3. Still not solved. This morning I make a cold boot of my iPhone SE. Now my Bluetooth issue is solved! i made about 20 calls without any problem.

I am not happy rhat Apple hasn't documentated this fix in the readme an history files!

Is really stupid that Apple refuse to communicate bugs and issues!

Im not crazy about using a beta to fix...haven't tried 'cold boot'. Is that just a reset as others have suggested? Thanks
