Q: Bluetooth Keyboard Malfunctioning After iOS 9.3.1 Update

After the iOS 9.3.1 updates, my Logitech Bluetooth keyboard has ceased to function properly with several key applications on my iPad. It appears as though these applications 'expect' to see the internal iPad keyboard: the screens of these applications shift upwards as they do with the internal keyboard, putting half of the application out of view. And most unfortunately, on a few of these applications, I am entirely unable to use my external keyboard to type. My blinking blue cursor disappears as soon as I place my finger to set it. I have tried re-setting the Bluetooth connection with my Logitech keyboard to no avail. Is there a way I can return proper functionality to my keyboard? And if this is a bug in the new 9.3.1 update, when can I expect it to be resolved?

    Hi there PurpleWorm,

It sounds like your iPad isn't working correctly with your bluetooth keyboard. I would start by quitting all the running apps on the device. Normally you only have to quit the apps that are having an issue but in this case since just about every app uses a keyboard input in some way, I would just quit them all since it will not harm anything.

Force an app to close in iOS

    1. Press the Home button two times quickly. You'll see small previews of your recently used apps.
    2. Swipe left to find the app you want to close.
    3. Swipe up on the app's preview to close it.

When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:

iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

If the issue persists then I would use the bluetooth troubleshooting in the following article to help you get that resolved:

I had no issues with my Targus Bluetooth keyboard until I returned home after being away for a few days.  Now it will type "hi" when I press the "h" key on the external keyboard, "az", when I press "a", "cs" when I press "s", etc. Most keys are fine.  Tried reboot, reconnecting the Bluetooth keyboard, resetting the keyboard to Canadian English, etc., but the problem remains. I have iOS 9.3.1 installed.
