i lost my Siri remote. I bought a new one but now when I want to pair it with Apple TV (holding menu +vol up) it doesn't pair. If I select remote (using remote app) it shows the old remote id. Any ideas on how to replace it?

Yes, I have charged the remote, everything is updated in the Apple TV, and the old one has been removed/forgotten from the system settings.
Perhaps the best thing to do at this stage is take it in to a Genius Bar to see if they can pair it, or swap the remote for one that does.
