Prohibitory sign during setup, locked out

Hi I just bought a 2016 Macbook 12 inch today. When setting up my account, a spinwheel came on while setting up the account. For two hours I waited and nothing happened so I turned off the computer. When turning it on, there is now a black screen with a prohibitory sign. I cant do anything and the whole computer is not usable!!! Please help!

Reinstalling OS X will but show that file vault conversion is currently in progress. FileVault conversion only takes place with the power adapter connected. Did you enable FileVault and not have the power adapter connected during the setup assistant?

The end result is you'll probably need to erase and install. Next time make sure the power adapter is connected during the setup assistant and don't enable FileVault until after you login.
