Q: wifi not working after i close lid

Whenever I close the lid of my macbook and  when I reopen it the internet connection is no longer working. It shows that the wifi is connected but i can not acces any site or get a ping response. To fix this i have to turn wifi off and turn it back on. Why is this happening?

MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11.4), null

That happens to me all of the time but I thought it was because I have an old router and Macbook '09. I'll be interested in hearing other replies

Whenever I close the lid of my macbook and  when I reopen it the internet connection is no longer working.

Closing the lid puts the MacBook in Sleep mode. In Sleep mode, wifi is turned off. That's all normal, the way that it is supposed to work.

Your issue appears to be that you're not getting a working Internet connection after the Wifi turns back on after your MacBook wakes from Sleep.

Try this in the El Capitan forum area:
