In my storage it says that I have 48.62GB worth of apps

In my storage it says that I have 48.62GB worth of apps and this is really weird since I don't have that much apps. The only apps that I have are the pre-installed apps when you purchased a Macbook other than those apps I only installed just Google Chrome, VLC, MS Word, PPT and Excel. This is really weird because suddenly I have this great amount GB for apps? Anyone know what this is or how this happens? I know, normally people complaining about the "other" in the storage but mine is completely zero and the last time I've checked the amount GB of the "others" to "apps" are opposite to what it is right now.
