how to reset network settings after international travel
I took an iPhone 6 overseas and had to do a manual network setting to use my phone. now that I am back in the USA I need to know how to make it go back to my home carrier settings for network.

Were you using a local SIM while you were traveling? I've seen a couple of instances where a profile was installed that prevented the phone from working properly (access cellular data) when returning to the U.S. Check Settings>General>Device Management and remove anything that is no longer relevant. If you have a corporate email account on your phone, you may have a profile for that that you wouldn't want to remove.

Did you try what I recommended above?
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Then do a forced restart. Hold down the Home and Wake/Sleep buttons at the same time for about 15-20 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
Then go back to Settings > Wi-Fi > and rejoin your network again.
I just did a manual network setting change on my cell phone to switch wireless networks on my phone while in Europe. No new SIM I was on an international travel plan on my cell phone not using wifi much. When I got back to the USA It was not switching back to my home carrier here. same sim no swapping
Are you referring to your Cellular network or the Wi-Fi network? Did you have to swap the SIMs card when you went overseas?
To reset your Wi-Fi network go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Then do a forced restart. Hold down the Home and Wake/Sleep buttons at the same time for about 15-20 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
Then go back to Settings > Wi-Fi > and rejoin your network again.
If you didn't switch SIMs, you should need to do anything. Have you tried elcpu's instructions for resetting your network settings?
Can you explain exactly what this "manual network setting change" was? What did you do?
What do you see if you go into Settings>Cellular>Cellular Data Options? Can you make and receive calls?
