Q: no network connection possible but get network list

hey,

suddenly (without an update or a change) my iphone 3 GS (32MB; ios 6.1.6; never jailbreak, first owner) lost connection to the network and since one week it didn`t get one...

it happens after a call from spain to germany.

- several restarts / swich offs with no resul: no connection neither in spain nor in german

- also i took the sim card out of the iphone and put it again inside....nothing

- wlan is working

- available networks will be shown: i can choose but than the same result as the automatically search: connection failed

- sim card is ok...it works well in another mobile

what can i do???

regards

rainer

Try resetting your Network Settings. Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Then do a forced restart. Hold down the Home and Wake/Sleep buttons at the same time for about 15-20 seconds until the Apple logo appears. Then go back to Settings > Wi-Fi > and rejoin your network again.

This is a list of suggestions I offer for Wi-Fi connection issues. You have tried most of them already but worth checking nonetheless.

    1) Perform a Forced Restart:  Hold down the Home and Wake/Sleep buttons at the same time for about 15-20 seconds until the Apple logo appears. Allow device to restart.

    2) Reset Network Settings:  Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Rejoin the Network again.

    3) Reboot Router/Modem:  Unplug from power for 2 minutes and plug again. Update Router Firmware (check manufacturer’s support website for a newer FW). Also try different bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and different bandwidths (20 MHz recommended for the 2.4 band).

    4) Change to Google's DNS:  Settings > Wi-Fi > Click on the Network, Delete all numbers under DNS and enter 8.8.8.8 or alternatively 8.8.4.4

    5) Disable device prioritization on the router if this feature is available.

    6) Determine if other Wi-Fi devices on network are working well (other iOS devices, Macs, PCs).

    7) Try device at another Network, i.e., neighbors’, public coffee house, etc.

    8) Restore the Device (ask for additional for details if desired).

    9) Go to an Apple Store for hardware evaluation.

Yes, you are right. Cellular/Mobile issues are usually caused by the carrier but nonetheless, below are Apple's recommendations for mobile issues. They are not likely to help as you have already tried most of them. I suggest contacting your mobile provider.

If you can't connect to a cellular network or cellular data - Apple Support

    thanks.....

but these advices were tested by me last week....

the thing is, that the sim-card is still working in my old nokia...so in my point of view it is not a issue of the mobile provider/network/sim-card but of my iphone.....

    :-(

I don't know what else to suggest other than going to an Apple Store for hardware evaluation or discussing the issue with your mobile provider again.

    problem issn`t solved...:-(

it is no prblem of the provider: simcard is working in onther device....and

another simcard is also not working in the iphone....

it is a problem of apple......device or software....:-(
