The Samsung 850 EVO or the Crucial SSD are good drives. Check here as a good source. http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/ssd/owc?_ga=1.110676997.1483712673.1459876669
This one is excellent. KINGSTON SV300S37A480G, seen here on Amazon...http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=KIN GSTON+SV300S37A480G
Thanks will look into that
Been looking at that as well but wanted to hear from anyone using it.
Thank you
Thats the one in my 2012 MacBook Pro no problems, lightning fast.
I have been using an OCZ Agility 3 on my Late 2008 MacBook.Works like a charm
I had problem with Kingston UV300 240GB. I tried installing a clean installation of El Capitan but the installation process never ends. I also tried cloning disks but when booting up the a system it never finish (despite the loading bar is full).
That sounds like a bad SATA cable.
I dont think so because it works perfeclty when I connect back the old HDD. I also tested the new SSD on another notebook (HP) and it worked well.
A cable which works with a very slow drive (your old HDD) may not work with a very much faster drive (the new SSD) and this is a common problem, so I still recommend that you change the cable.
ok, I will give it a try. thank you!
You're welcome and good luck.
And don't buy the cheapest cable you can find, go to iFixit.com to get one.
