Q: Can't edit or import external data files to Excel
Hi
I use a monthly report in Excel which works fine in Windows but not Mac. It's an XLSB binary file which pulls in 4 external .txt files from various places on the web to load the latest data into the report. If I open the file in Windows it asks if I want to enable data and when I click yes it downloads the data from each txt file, does some calculations and is all ready. In the Mac it says it can't find the files.
So my first thought was to go to Data>Connections and check the properties, mainly the url it's using to pull in each file. However in Excel 16 for Mac (Office 365) the Properties button is greyed out. This also means I can't 'Save As' when a new month comes and change the urls to match the new month either. You can bring up a Properties box but it's very limited, with no option to edit the url.
I've also tried it in Excel 11, same problem. I don't want to do Boot Camp and have to load up Windows (and use up 20GB) just for one file but I need to use it. Any ideas?
