Q: Corrupted Drive?

Hey Everyone !

I am currently running osx 10.8.5 on my mac, I haven't upgraded the os since first purchasing my laptop, but I have reinstalled the same os twice via internet recovery. What can I do liberate my mac from intrusions (at the root level) and prevent this from happening in the future ( the built-in firewall is not enough) ?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)

More information would help. Can you explain intrusions and what you mean by that? Have you tried booting into the Recovery Partition (command - R on a restart) and the running Disk Utility Permissions and Repair disk until you get no errors.
