Q: IPOD touch I.O.S 6.1.1

I would like to upload Pandora but it says I have to upgrade my IPOD to I.O.S 8 HELP ....Do i need to buy a new one ...

Is your iPod a 4th gen iPod? If so, then 6.1.1 is the highest iOS that device can run.

It's actually 6.1.6 ....Really not sure as I got it for my daughter a few years back. I guess I have to buy a new one ?
