I have a new Macbook and just checked Launchpad and there are programs that I didn't download and install on the Macbook, I may have downloaded them on another Mac a long time ago. Do programs somehow get copied over in Launchpad from one Mac to another? Some of the programs showing up are Google Play Music, Box, AirDroid, I definitely did not download these on this Mac.

If you use the Migration assistant to move from one Mac to another then the answer is yes.
Some Google Apps have other apps embedded into the app. They show up in Launchpad.

If you are using Google Chrome as your web browser, you may notice that some of your web apps have icons in launchpad. I have the same thing too. If you want to get rid of them, get rid of the extension in Chrome. Of course, I'm only assuming that you use Google Chrome because of the Google app you mentioned in your question.
I use Google Chrome and don't have the Android item in Launchpad.
For clarification, is Launchpad just another way to access applications that are in the applications folder? Why do some applications appear in Launchpad and others in the Applications folder do not?

I guess everything from the applications folder does appear in Launchpad.
The Google apps that are appearing in Launchpad that I originally asked about are not in my Applications folder. When I click on them in Launchpad they go to webpages. I checked my Google Chrome and I have lots of extensions, though these do not display. Is there someway to just remove them from Launchpad since they are not applications?

I don't believe so without removing them from the Mac.
