    Hi William,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! I'm sorry to hear that you are having these issues with a recent update on your iPhone. I'm a bit unclear on exactly what you are seeing (for example, the text of any error or alert messages, or any error codes), but if you continue to have issues completing the 9.3.1 update, you may find the information and steps outlined in the following articles helpful:

Resolve iOS update and restore errors in iTunes - Apple Support

If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

    Regards

    More details?

And specifically from what version are you attempting to upgrade from, on which model iGadget and via which means?

Worst case scenario is from iOS 9.1 or earlier. Then the full installer is needed and on newer iTouch models that can be 1-2 GB in size. So the download time can be lengthy which in turn amplifies the possibility of a communications issue while that finishes.

    Hi Courcol,

I am having the same issue. As far as my environment is concerned, I'm trying to update an iPhone 4S from version 9.0 to 9.3.1.

I'm using iTunes version 12.3.2.35 (64 bits) on Windows.

iTunes asks for a restore and update procedure, I accept it, it starts, and when on the phone the progress bar is showing about 70% done, on iTunes the progress bar reaches the end of "Verifying iPhone Restore" stays there for a couple of minutes and then fails with "Unkown Error (29)"

Repeated the process over and over again. Rebooted Windows, phone, etc... does not update the phone. It was working ok until this update started and failed for the first attempt...

    Any recommendations?

    Thank you
