Q: Custom Title Help Needed
Hi,
I wanted to create a custom title template that I can readily reuse in FCPX by changing text. The title effect I'm looking for is very similar to this https://youtu.be/Ry4abK7ID60?t=16s and I'm wondering if anyone can help me create this title template in Motion?
Super much appreciated.

It is a little too much to do a quick tutorial here (I tried...) but you can download what I've done here. Let me know when you've downloaded it so I can pull it. (By downloading, you agree to the licensing agreement that accompanies the Title - it's quite liberal, royalty free.)
Here's the preview (it's a gif, so it looks a little choppy):
The row of dots is moveable (vertically) so it can be an underline, or separator. The lines are also adjustable (they can essentially be dragged anywhere on the screen (the dotted line will follow the line 2 text when dragged), but an onscreen control is provided to move everything together and its position parameter can be keyframed for "drifting".) All text formatting is done in the Text inspector, although the dotted line is not editable in FCPX. You can edit the characters used in the Title inspector (default is a "bullet" — shift-option-8) but it can be changed to dashes, asterisks, or other marks (think unicode) and there is a text box available to make changes (add more dots, remove some, whatever you want) and the other parameter for the dotted line is tracking so you can set the spacing between characters or use it to match the first line length, etc. The default font is Proxima Nova (Bold for line 1, Regular for line 2). Use the text inspector to edit font attributes. Select each text separately before attempting to make edits in the Text inspector.
