Brand new Macbook Pro trackpad and screen freezing often

I literally bought my Macbook Pro (13in with retina) a few days ago from the Apple store and it's really annoying that I'm financing it for $1,300 and yet it freezes randomly that I have to turn the whole thing off. Is there a way to fix this or not? Seems like a very common issue, so if there's no fix, I'm sending this thing right back to Apple because that's just ridiculous for how much this laptop costs.

Hi owlflote,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! I'm sorry to hear that you are having these issues with your new MacBook Pro; I know how frustrating that can be. I'm a bit unclear on your particular situation or configuration (any error messages or alerts, if the freezing is happening during any particular action or application, if any additional software or add-ons were installed, etc), but if you continue to have intermittent but persistent responsiveness issues, you may find the information and troubleshooting steps outlined in the following article helpful:

OS X: When your computer spontaneously restarts or displays "Your computer restarted because of a problem." - Apple Support

Depending on the nature of the responsiveness issues, you may also want to see if any particular system resources are being overtaxed (CPU, memory pressure, disk space, network access, etc):
