Apr 7, 2016 9:51 AM in response to Jason Lby AeroZ,Couldn't find anything that would help me.
The only way to get rid of this event from Notification Center right now is to open Settings->Notifications and change "Notification Center sort order" to "Recents". If it's set to "Recents by App" or "Manually by App" then the event shows up again.

Aug 4, 2016 9:54 AM in response to AeroZby oliverraduner,Hey AeroZ I have EXACTLY the same issue! Only solution is to switch, as you described, the Notification Center sort order to "Recents"...
Funny fact: the Calendar event notifications stuck in my Notification Center are also all from OCTOBER 2014! It affects 2 events on the very same day and 1 Birthday Reminder on the following day back from October 2014.
Let me know if you found a solution!
