Q: ipad pro - 3rd party apps not showing up in settings

Hello.

I recently got an iPad Pro and loaded it with about 30 apps. However, no third party apps are showing up in Settings. There are only stock Apple apps plus at the bottom are Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, and Vimeo--of which I only have Flickr installed. I tried restarting, but it did not fix the issue. Any ideas what's going on?

    Hi oregonjoe,

Congratulations on the purchase of your iPad Pro!  Can you tell me a little more about your missing apps?  Did you purchase apps from the iTunes Store, or did you set up your new iPad Pro from a backup from a different iOS device?  What specific settings are you looking to adjust? Notifications?

Transfer content from an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to a new device

    Take care,

    Hi Judy,

Thank you! The iPad pro is turning out to be one of my most useful and used devices.

Most of the apps were restored from a backup via iTunes. It was a backup of my first iPad pro which I had to return because of a defect. However other apps were also downloaded from the App Store after the restore, and none of those are showing up in Settings either. All the apps seem to show up in other sub areas of Settings, such as notifications, battery usage, and storage usage. But under main settings there are no apps to be found, except stock apps.

I only noticed this because I wanted to change some of the drawing settings for the art app Procreate.

By the way, "Community Specialist"--does that mean you are an Apple employee? Either way, thanks for the help!

    Hi oregonjoe,

Thanks for the additional information.  Joe, your profile indicates you are working with iOS 9.3.  Have you updated to the latest version of the iOS, which is iOS 9.3.1?  That would be the first step because it would "refresh" the operating system without affecting the data.  If you have already updated to iOS 9.3.1, then I would reset all settings, and if the issue persists, try deleting and redownloading one of the apps like Procreate that you use frequently.  I'll include resources below that will provide more details.

Update the iOS software on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

    iPad User Guide

This guide describes iOS 9.3 for:

    • iPad Pro (9.7-inch), iPad Pro (12.9-inch)

Reset iPad settings. Go to Settings > General > Reset, then choose an option:

    • Reset All Settings: All your preferences and settings are reset.

    Download your past purchases

Thanks, Judy! I was holding off updating until I was sure the 9.3.1 release didn't have any widespread issues. It doesn't seem to, so I went ahead with the update tonight and it fixed the problem! All apps are now showing under settings.

I wasn't aware Apple employees chimed in on these forums. That's great news! Thanks again!

H-hey Judy, this does not have anything about 3rd party apps, but I'm having trouble with the Applea Music. The thing says that I have to join the Apple Music club thing when I just want to listen to different albums of music, like I would tap on epic rap battles on the radio, it would pop the album up the go back down and another icon would show that I have to join the Apple Music. Can you solve that plz?
