Q: Text messages no longer in chronological order

My text messages on my iPhone do not appear in chronological order (but they do on my iPad). I have done a hard reset with no change. Any suggestions?

iPhone 6, iOS 9.3.1

I have had the same exact issue since 9.3 and hasn't been fixed in 9.3.1. I am using an iPhone 6plus. If I do a hard reset it then arranges back to their chronological order but after a few texts later then they become out of sync.

It could be an issue with the time. Go to Settings > General > Date and Time, and make sure "Set date and time automatically" is selected. If that sets it to the wrong time, uncheck it and set the correct time manually.

I've seen this happen when someone deletes a recent text from a thread. The thread does not resort itself to the date of the last existing text in the thread. It stays in the spot it would be in if the more recent text hadn't been deleted. For example, if I have a thread with a text that was received on March 1 and then get a message today, on April 6, delete the April 6 message, the thread will stay sorted as if the last message was April 6. So, it would stay in front of other threads that had received messages, say on March 15.
