Did you try to find the saved songs as described here? http://help.apple.com/garageband/ipad/2.0/index.html#chs39284d66

Send a GarageBand song to iTunes

  • Tap My Songs, then tap Select.
  • Tap the song you want to send, then tap the Action button User uploaded file.
  • Tap Share Song via iTunes.
  • Do one of the following:
    • To send the song as a GarageBand song, tap GarageBand.
    • To send the song as an audio file, tap iTunes, then tap Share.
After you tap the iTunes icon, you can choose the quality of the file GarageBand sends to iTunes. You can also add artist, composer, and title information that appears in iTunes.
  • Sync your iPad with your computer. In iTunes, the exported song appears in the Documents list in the File Sharing area when GarageBand is selected.
  • Do one of the following:
    • Drag the song from the GarageBand Documents list to the Finder.
    • Click Save As, navigate to the location where you want to save the song, then click Save.

You can open the GarageBand song in GarageBand on your Mac, or play the audio file in iTunes (or any compatible audio application) on your computer. GarageBand songs cannot be opened on a Windows computer.

hi Leonie, thanx 4 the link. what happened is I saved about 30 songs in iTunes made on iPad GarageBand. I easily uploaded then downloaded said songs with ease back & forth twixt iPad & iTunes/MAC then iCloud came into the picture. I became ill at that period (hospital etc) & didn''t use it for around 1&1/2 years. I don't know what happened during that time but the 30 songs disappeared from iTunes in the apps saved documents. I did save some of them onto GarageBand proper in my Macs' 2 on the mini & 9 on macbook Pro.

It isn't gr8 but it will mean a bit of work trying to get them back to my iPad; it's so good as a musical sketch pad. I called the helpline but even using Time Machine the songs have disappeared. They never gave me a reason how this could happen. is it possible I can retrieve

the songs via iCloud? I think the problem lies there. Ta, Zman.

Wjich version of GarageBand an MacOS X are you using now? The location for shared GarageBand songs in iCloud changed between Yosemite and El Capitan.

If you are now using GarageBand 10, check what you are seeing, if you use the command "File > iCloud > Import GarageBand for iOS song" in GarageBand. Does that show your old GarageBand iOS projects?
