Q: Audio issues

Ok! I am at a conundrum as a Mac user! Since my first Mac (II, which I fondly referred to as my Ol' Workhorse for a few years) I have not been able to financially keep up with current models or OS. For some time my old G4's served me well except no Intel processor presented numerous stumbling blocks. So, within my budget I recently purchased an early 2008 Mac Pro. I researched most of what I was getting into knowing Illustrator (my #1 workhorse) and other software probably would not function in the new environment, but, to my dismay, I cannot find a workable solution to output iTunes to my stereo. I successfully moved my M-Audio Delta PCI sound card from my early G4 (2002) to my "newer" model without issue. As the Mac Pro only accepts PCIe and I cannot find a means of output (and input) what am I to do? I purchased an AutoWT Digital to Analog Audio Convertor at little cost but cannot get a signal. What I have read suggests the standard 1/8" in/out delivers lackluster quality. I record using GarageBand with an old PA head, direct instruments, and the old standby Shure SM58 (45 years and going strong). I am seeking a solution to enable me to enjoy that which I had.

My wife and I enjoy cranking up iTunes and dancing and I desperately need my recording functions.

Thanks for any help.

Mac Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4), 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
