Q: Connect USB MIDI controller keyboard to iPhone 6+ ?

Hi there!

I have 3 questions.

Question #1

I have an iPhone 6+ and I would like to connect my Keystation 88se MIDI keyboard controller to it. I also have an iPad 2 which I'm able to connect with my Keystation using a camera adapter.

Keystation setup configuration is: USB/B to USB/A (male) and then a USB/A (female) to 30 pin adapter which I then plug into my iPad.

So essentially what I need is an adapter that does the same things but for an 8 pin lightning connection. Does anyone even make something like this? If so.., can you please point me in the direction?

Question #2

I also have another keyboard controller: AKAI LPK 25 that works great with my iPad using the same connection set up as my Keystation. Problem is that my AKAI uses my iPad as its power source which causes the battery to deplete faster. Is there any type of multi-port station of hub that will allow me to connect my MIDI keyboard to my iPad at charge it at the same time? And if so, are there any that work with lightning connection?

Question #3

Is there any way possible to use my iPad and/or iPhone as a sound module with a DAW on my Mac Mini? If there was a way to use them as external sound sources then I might be able to control them through whatever DAW I'm using.

Hope this wasn't too confusing. Any information is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

AJ
