Q: Bootcamp no longer working after creating third partition

Hey all,

I 'm running osx 10.9.5 on a 2012 macbook pro with windows 7 on bootcamp. The person who made the initial bootcamp partition set it at 79gb, which is too small for my uses, so I made a 45gb FAT32 partition in the hopes that I could write files to that disk from windows.
I learned after making the partition that windows was no longer appearing at startup (w/ alt pressed) and when I tried to boot from system preferences, windows popped up stating that it had no disk.

I followed the instructions (probably not the smartest idea) from this thread: Repairing Boot Camp after creating new partition which did bring the windows option back to my w/alt startup, but did not get windows to actually start up (leaving me at the same screen asking me to put in a disk and press any key to start).

here's my terminal after following the instructions from LonerT.

Any help is much appreciated  (I don't have access to the folks who set up bootcamp for me anymore)!

Thanks

You will need a new Hybrid MBR, if you plan to keep the shared partition. Can you follow [Help] Can't boot to windows (8.1) after resizing partition and re-create the Hybrid MBR? If you have questions after reading the linked discussions, please ask.

    Hey,

Thanks so much for the reply! I realized going through the a. step of your instructions that my computers going into internet recovery every time I load up either with command+R or by clicking on recovery after booting up with alt. I just checked to make sure that I have a recovery (I do), but I'm guessing it's been corrupted. Do you have any links to possible fixes for the recovery? I just did a search and didn't find anything useful.

Re-installing OSX will rebuild recovery. One option you may want to consider is How to install OS X on an external drive connected to your Mac - Apple Support .  You can boot from this external OS X installation and change SIP. Please be aware that it can provide the version of OS X that originally shipped, rather than the current version. You should upgrade the external disk OS X to the same version as your internal disk version.
