Q: Share data via Bluetooth

l have an iPad (probably purchased in 2011), with iOS 9.3.1. I have a MacBook Air and am looking to purchase an iPhone 6. I wish to transfer some data on an app from my iPad to the phone. I believe shoud use Airdrop. To test the process, I tried to pair my ipad with my MacBook, but I have not had any success.i have used Bluetooth to transfer files from a ,phone to a computer before, but I can't get Bluetooth working on my iPad; help, help

... if you think your iPad is from 2011, then it may be a 2nd gen iPad which would not work with AirDrop. You would need, at least, a 4th gen model.

Having similar problems but I know I was sharing data between iPhone and iPad before release of the "fix" IOS 9.3.1

Any other suggestions?

Please be aware that this is not really an Apple networking issue which is the subject of this area of the Apple Support Communities (ASC). You may get better results in posting to either the iPhone or iPad areas instead.

Did you review both articles I included in my reply to the OP? If so, what was your results?

What exact models of the iPad & iPhone do you have?
