Mac being hot and constantly freezing

My Macbook Air has worked perfectly until about a month ago. It now becomes very hot, especially to the charger port but even when it is not charging!

I am also experiencing constant freezing on where I can only move the cursor, the cursor usually becomes giant then the mac unfreezes. Has anyone else found this? Any help will be much appreciated.
