Q: Restrictions passcode still on after erasing phone
I have researched and read alot about how to deal with the issue of not knowing restrictions passcode. After an update I no longer could see or use Playstore, Safari or iTunes. I was told by tech support via phone that I can use Find my phone feature via the cloud on my laptop to erase my phone and set up as a new phone.
After doing this the restrictions passcode is still on. I have tried using 1234 and 5555 like several others on here have tried and succeeded but no luck.
I did plug my phone into my laptop and downloaded all images and onto both my laptop and into cloud(saved contacts to cloud also).
I was VERY upset to discover that by doing so I used over 2GB of data.
I've read where I can use iPhone backup extractor pro to backup my phone and there is an option there to change restrictions passcode. However, that program costs $30. I do not want to pay that being I did not cause this issue bit Apple did.
I also read to download iPhone to iTunes and then restore through there. I am afraid of doing so due to last time I backed up my iPhone it used over 2GB of data.
I have AT&T as a provider for home internet as well as my iPhone. I have 6GB of data every month. In the past I have never gone over my data. Since the update occurred that turned on the restrictions I have gone over my data almost every single month. There is apparently something running in the background with safari or iTunes(or somewhere else) that I can't control due to restrictions. I use my iPhone for calls and texts only usually. I do not use social media, I do not watch movies or videos or listen to music on my iPhone.
I am so completely fed up with these issues and need a resolution. From reading others posts Apple has a habit of doing things such as this and the customer is stuck spending hours of time trying to fix what Apple messed up. This is the first Apple product I have ever bought and so far it's been frustration.
