How to force eject a disc from external drive?
Applications>Utilities>Disc Utility>Eject will not eject a DVD from the Apple external disc drive. Is there another route?

I have the same problem! The macbook pro does not even recognize the disk drive or the disk itself. How can i get it out? There is no eject button or little hole to poke with a paperclip...

3. Launch Terminal.
Applications > Utilities > Terminal
Type in drutil eject external
Press enter.
We had a DVD stuck in the external SuperDrive. Disc mounted and played fine but would not eject.
Finally I turned the drive over and issued the eject command.
That worked!
