Hi all..
Wonder if you can help me as im rather confused..
I have just backed up my old ip5 on my desktop and my laptop... Both computers state it wont recognise my SE as i am not running the latest itunes.
i have checked both apple website and ran the check on itunes and i am running the latest software?
very frustrating as i have a phone now i cannot update as i have never backup via wifi, just to desktop..
any help appreciated
What is the exact version number of iTunes that you have on your computer. What computer OS are you using?

I am on windows 10 and its the latest version available apparently , so it shows as 12.1.2.27
That is not the latest iTunes version available. The latest is v12.3.3. See this ASC User provided tip sheet for issues with iTunes and Windows. Look through the entire sheet before starting your troubleshooting. Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates
The latest version of iTunes for Windows is 12.3.3
As ChrisJ4203 was alluding to, you may find yourself in a quandary. To use iTunes with an SE you will need iTunes 12.3.3.17 and to use that version of iTunes you will need at least Windows 7. Do you have Windows 7 (at least)?

I'm using 12.1.1 and Check for Updates offers 12.1.2 which may be the one your using. It seems that 12.1.2 (or older) can't detect anything newer than version 12.1.2. It thinks 12.1.2 is the latest version.

Sorted now, very confusing when the actual itunes program tells you its fully up to date when it clearly isnt!!
Itunes says i need to update however running the latest available
