Q: I recently upgraded Office 2011 to version 14.6.2 on my iMac.  Since then Safari has failed to open.

I recently upgraded Office 2011 to version 14.6.2 on my iMac.  Since then Safari has failed to open.  I have tried restarting the application and the computer but nothing happens when the icon is clicked - except the icon turning grey.  The movement of the icon that usually occurs when the icon is clicked is absent.

iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2012), OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)
