Q: Calendar.app "Add Invitees" Autocompletes Misspelled Zombie Emails, Prevents Correct Email

In Calendar.app, I invited "alice@x.com, bob@y.com" (mistakenly as one long string, not two separate emails).

Now whenever I just try to invite alice@x.com, Calendar.app autocompletes this to "alice@x.com, bob@y.com", and prevents me from just inviting alice@x.com. Highly frustrating.

How do I fix Calendar.app's caches and remove incorrect and unwanted emails? I've tried:

rm ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.corerecents.recentsd/Data/Library/SyncedPreferen ces/recentsd-com.apple.calendar.recents.plist

rm ~/Library/Calendars/Calendar\ Cache*

rm ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.CalendarAgent/Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.Cale ndarAgent/Cache.db*

But "alice@x.com, bob@y.com" lives on like a zombie! How do I kill it?

Mac mini, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4), null

    Essandess,

Also check your Mail Application>Window>Previous Recipients.

    If that is not helpful:

    1. Quit Calendar, then paste this text ~/Library into the Finder Menu>Go>Go to Folder...window and select "Go." This will open the Users Library Folder.

    2. Next open the Preferences Folder in that Library Folder and move the com.apple.iCal.plist file to the Desktop.

    3. Log out/in or restart and open Calendar.

Thanks. The string "alice@x.com, bob@y.com" doesn't appear in Mail.app>Window>Previous Recipients. I tried removing each of these recipients individually from Mail.app>Window>Previous Recipients and deleting the cache files as above, but the zombie lives on.

And I'm on 10.11, so there is no file ~/Library/com.apple.iCal.plist.

...the correct path for the .plist file is: ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iCal.plist

Amazingly, if I delete the accounts and completely delete the entire Mail and Calendar cache and directory structure, then re-add the accounts, the zombie misspelled emails live on!

    rm -fr /Library/Containers

    rm -fr ~/Library/Calendars/

    rm -fr ~/Library/Mail/

    rm -fr ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.CalendarAgent.plist

    rm -fr ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iCal.*

    rm -fr ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost

I don't know what else to do -- this must be a bug in Calendar.app related to incorrect data on the server.

Fortunately, I found a workflow workaround: generate the recipient list in Mail.app, the copy-and-paste to Calendar.app's Add Invitees field.

a bug in Calendar.app related to incorrect data on the server

That can't be it because other clients to the exact same account don't have the same autocomplete bug.

This is being stored in some highly obscure cache, plist, or database location on the box.
