Q: Apple Watch stops pulse messureing

My apple watch stops the pulse messuring about 3 Minutes after starting an Workout.

in Helthapp I can see a frequently pulse messure after starting until about 3 Minutes and than it stops.

The next pulse messure point is if I stops the workout, it ll be 1 or 2 hours later.

Any idea?

    Hi Michael

On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > Workout - if it is presently enabled, turn off Power Saving Mode.

Otherwise, the following steps may help:

    • Close all open apps on your iPhone and then restart both your iPhone and your watch:
      • To close all open apps on your iPhone: double-click on the Home button, then swipe up on each app preview.
      • Turn both off devices off together, then restart your iPhone first:
        • To turn your watch off: press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; drag it to turn off.
        • To turn it back on: press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.

    • If that does not help, next try unpairing and re-pairing your watch:

If the issue persists, I suggest that you contact Apple Support (mail-in service may be available) or make a Genius Bar reservation with a view to having your watch checked under warranty:

    Thanks for your quick response.

There is no auto save flag in Workout menu and furthermore I am not using Workout app for running, I am using Runtastic Pro.

However, I will try all your hints tomottow before my next workout.

    Best regards

The developer of Runtastic Pro has acknowledged that the app presently has an issue with heart rate monitoring, which they are actively working to fix:

    • Customer question:
      • "Since update to IOS 9.3 on Iphone 6S and OS Watch 2.2 on Apple Watch, the heart rate monitoring during activities does not work as it did before. The heart rate is measured at the beginning of the activity for just few minutes and then it stops. Once the hart rate was not measured at all... This was not happening before these updates .. "

      • "we already know what the problem is and are currently working on fixing it ;-) Please be patient!"
