safari updates

I updated my wife's iPad to 9.3.1, but its Safari is still on 6.0.1. How do I update Safari to the latest version, which is required by some of my secured web sites?

iPad 2, iOS 9.3.1

Safari for iOS is bundled with the operating systems. You already have the latest Safari and can't update it like you update other apps.

Appreciate the fast response. "Bundled" is what everything I've read says but, according to Safari, the latest version is 6.2.8 - which is what the secured web site that I'm trying to access is calling for. Even though the iPad has been updated to 9.3.1, Safari was not updated on this iPad to its higher version.

In your opinion, does this mean I'm stuck running 6.0.1?

I'm sorry, according to who? Are you talking about Safari version for OSX? What secure website are you visiting? It's possible that the website does not support Safari browser for mobile devices.

If you have the latest iOS version 9.3.1, you have the latest Safari browser.

My bad. Very poor choice of words.

1) Are you talking about Safari version for OSX?

This is for iPad 2 - OS 9.3.1

2) The web site is Chase Bank.

I placed a shot of the iPad's User Agent settings, and the Chase.com requirements on my web site (where I got 6.2.8): http://audiographics.com/archive/ipad.htm

I'm a Windows user - have been for decades. Don't know a lot about Apple.

Much appreciate you taking the time to help.

I see the snapshot from Chase. Your inability to browse Chase website is unrelated to Safari version. Have you tried clearing Safari cache (look in Settings - Safari)? As I said last week, you already have the latest Safari browser because it comes with iOS (and you have the latest iOS version). If you still can't browse Chase website, use Chase app.
