How do I change the settings for the maximize button?

I don't like the new feature of clicking on the green button to go fullscreen. I want it to just maximize like it used to. How do I change it back?

And also, about that new feature that allows you to have two windows side by side.... I can't find a way to do this with any program but Finder.
