How do I see which folder iTunes is getting music from?

I have three folders in File Explorer named Music each with different tunes in them, so how can I tell iTunes to use the music from the one with most of my songs in?

Hi jerrysvr,

Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities.

If you have several folders of music on your computer and you want to tell iTunes which one to use as the library location, there are a few steps you can follow.

I'd recommend going through the steps outlined in Locate and organize your iTunes media files.

First, use the steps in the "Find and change the iTunes Media folder location" to pick the folder with most of your music in it and consolidate the music files from other locations (that are already in your iTunes library) to this folder. You can also follow the steps under "Keep your media folder organized and copy files to your folder" to make sure newly imported songs end up in the right folder.

The section called "Locate the file for an item you see in iTunes" can help if you're not sure which music folder contains the items you've added to your iTunes library.

This is also a good time to create a backup of your iTunes library and music--Manage and back up your iTunes media library.

Best Regards.
