Q: Switch Apple device to a different Apple ID

I have two Apple devices associated  with my Apple ID. How do I switch one of those to a different Apple ID?

iPhone 4S, iOS 9.3.1

Go to Settings/iCloud and sign out. Go to Settings/iTunes & App Store and sign out. Go to Settings/Facetime and sign out. Then sign in with the new ID.

Thanks, Larry. If, by chance, the other device does not have its own Apple ID setup already, can a new one be created and then log in using it as you instructed? My wife's phone is somehow associated with my ID ( I'm sure it's something i did in error ) and she'd like to have her own ID. She may have had one long ago but doesn't remember any more.  I'm hesitant to just remove her phone from my ID in fear of erasing everything on her phone.

I may be mixing issues here and apologize in advance if this gets confusing due to my inability to accurately describe the issue.

    Thanks again!

The only thing you will lose is anything synced to iCloud (contacts, calendars, notes, etc) but you are given the option to keep them on the phone. Any apps purchased on your account will remain, but will need your password to update them. If she doesn't remember her old ID she can try with https://iforgot.apple.com, or just create a new one. You can then link them with Family Sharing, which gives you options to share content (or not) on an item by item basis. See: Family Sharing - Apple Support
