My iPod classic 160gb won't show anything other than an 'ok to disconnect screen' and won't restore when connected to iTunes it is unresponsive when buttons are pressed and previously was just turning on and off repeatedly, any suggestions?

If you have not already, do a Reset (restart) on the iPod

Learn how to reset your iPod - Apple Support (see section iPod with a click wheel)

Do this initially with the iPod not connected. After the Reset (and the Apple logo), what do you see on the iPod's screen?
