Logic Pro X not playing back recorded sounds

I have had and worked with Logic Pro X on my iMac computer since 2013 with no problems. About 3 weeks ago, an audio playback error arose. My recorded material in Logic Pro X along with my compatible MIDI keyboard played back just fine before this incident. Now, whenever I try to play my MIDI keyboard or play a project that I've already made progress on, no sound comes out at all. I can see that the program is actively working and I can also see that the sounds are being made in the program through all of the visual volume colors/representations. It is as if my speakers are the problem. But I am positive that the speakers aren't the problem because they play back all sounds that interact with Google Chrome, Safari, iTunes, the App Store, etc. If anyone can give any legitimate suggestions, I would be very grateful. Thank you.

Hi there indyuser

I have a similar problem but when I reset core audio there is some sound playback but it sounds nothing like the audio I have recorded. It sound very muffled and some instruments can't be heard. Playback through monitors is fine but when I disconnect my laptop and want to listen through my speakers the audio is distorted. Also when I bounce the project it is distorted when I listen back.

Any ideas on how to solve this one?

Thanks

You can try two things....

Disable core audio in logic pro presences ( apply changes) then re-enable it.. This resets the driver.

Try selecting a different output on the Mac then reselecting the correct one again.... This has also solved issues at times for me.

Your won't look like this - but in the output section pick on that isn't checked and then reselect it again.

This is so simple you could scream. I had the same? or similar? problem.

I have MIDI thru, can play the software instrument, can record, I see the recorded notes in Piano Roll Editor, when I click them I hear them...but the REGION doesn't play the notes when I start the sequencer. When I drag the region to a different Track with another Instrument, it plays fine.

SOLUTION: There's a little ON/OFF button for each Track. It was turned OFF. Turn it ON, the Region plays.

I noticed the Region had a different color when I dragged it to another track *whose button was ON). That was the clue, actually.
