Updating points

Is work being done on the server today? Based on the e-mails I received, I should be 29 points ahead of where I am currently, but as of yet, the site has not reflected that. I know sometimes when there's work done it can make everything lag behind (not just that), so I was curious.

Lag? If that was the only issue that I have had over the last three days, it wouldn't be so bad. I am not seeing points being updated either going back to yesterday nd it has been reported in the lounge as well. Lots of funky problems in ASC the last few days. I have been getting the 502 Proxy Errors, experiencing lag, getting the We Will Be Back message, the red content error bars... Lots of good stuff.

Oh good, it's not just me then. I've been getting a lot of the same error messages and have been experiencing the same issues.

Not just you. My points score hasn't increased for roughly 24 hours, although I've been getting 'points awarded' emails throughout the period. The ASC site is also giving me dozens of CSS errors at the moment, with both Safari and Firefox. Also long delays before pages load and on one occasion the editor died while typing a reply.

Is there an obvious place that I've missed to report such issues?

The problems have been reported to the hosts in three different communities in the lounge to which only level 6 users and higher have access. They should be aware of all of the problems by now. However, since this is a weekend, it could be a couple of days before the problems are dealt with.

I am thinking there may be some "regional" aspect to this...

Not sure if it Apple or Apple breaking the Internet

Last evening, idmsa.apple.com (login system) was "not found" in PING and traceroute (after timing out/failling to load login page)

At the same time, Google and Yahoo failed to resolve - but everything else I tried was fine

NotOpening.com showed ALL 3 to be working and down "just for you" - their "check from worldwide" button did not work nor the content show on the page

Y'all can do the math on these symptoms and see that something oddball was afoot

These forums have so many glitches which should be dealt with instead of presenting us with gamification which may result in more glitches. I found a way to deal with this: I just do not look or count or otherwise keep track of points (which is now too cumbersome anyway involving too many clicks/page loading - simply not worth my time). I also do not actively try to advance in any specialty, so I ignore it. As long as the spirit moves me, I will continue to do what I came here for: to learn and try to help. Neither points nor specialties will make me a better person - and, in the grand scheme of things, my participation in these forums or the forums themselves are not a major part of my life - my family, real friends, and my many interests are.

This is the best place for you. There are already many threads about the current problems and additionally, some pretty strongly phrased ones in the lounge area (for level 6 and above). I hope the hosts don't get too much of a headache ... they won't be able to find the time to sort it out.

Poor Hosts! Unfortunately they are mere middlemen - "spokespersons" for Apple - cheerleaders - Public Relations. No power to act on problems or decide on paths forward
* I have an ongoing trouble ticket... the Hosts "RELAY" content from my email correspondence to AppleJiveTeam and RELAY requests back TO me FROM AJT = crazy!!!!

Can't entirely agree ÇÇÇ, if your ears were being blasted from all quarters, day in and day out, you would be making no small effort to get some cooperation from the Jive team. I know I would.

We do not sit in their chairs... realities of office "politics" might make one tread carefully - I have seen many a "squeaky wheel" employee be shown the door in my day

However, a carefully crafted business case for "repairing the delivery truck rather than painting it and applying side panel graphics" could likely be easily made
