Q: How do I burn iMovie projects to dvd?

I have mastered the art of making videos using iMovie, but I CANNOT figure out how to get them burned onto a dvd that will play in any dvd player.  I have tried to do research to figure this out, but most of the answers that I've found are from two years ago.  I need a current answer to help me.  It appears that iDVD is the way to go, but it isn't offered anymore.  I have tried different video converters will no luck.  Once I got one to work and got it burned to dvd, but then it wouldn't play on anything other than my Macbook.  PLEASE help me!  I just made a birthday video for my son who just turned one, and I need it to be on dvd.  Can anyone help me?

MacBook Air, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5), iTunes

    Buy iDVD.

Yes, there are other programs that will put a movie on a DVD.   I have tried most of the other substitutes.  None of them come anywhere near the ease-of-use and power of iDVD. IDVD is specifically designed to work with iMovie.

With iDVD you can easily and quickly create DVDs with menus and graphics almost on the level of what Hollywood can do.

IDVD is easy to get. It is available on disk as part of iLife 11.  You can but it on Amazon or ebay.

IDVD is a wonderful piece of software and well worth the low cost of $40.  (works with all Mac OS 10.5 and newer.)

Thank you for your honesty, and for not trying to send me on a wild goose chase.  I'll just go ahead and buy it so I know that it will work.
