Can I claim VAT on Mbp from Education Store?

HI


So I would like to know if I were to purchase a MacBook Pro from the education store online or in store , can I then claim VAT back as well? Either through export or business ?

It would depend on your location, especially since there are different countries with different VAT regulations. That would be a question to ask a tax professional. The same as determining a percentage of use of a device as personal and business. Here in the US, that would allow you to deduct a percentage of the cost of the device as a business expense, but generally multi-use items like that end up getting the least percentage use, and it makes you have to keep detailed records to justify the percentages.


And to be honest, I don't think you would qualify for the Education store as a business expense unless you were a teacher/university employee, etc.. Using a student discount would have to be as a student, not a business expense.
